Kim Strobl is an award-winning Austrian filmmaker. After 11 years in London she is currently living in Innsbruck, Austria again. She has a BA in Film & Television Production from the University in Westminster, as well as a Diploma for Advanced Directing from the Central Film School London, where she received the Best Director Award for her graduation film Loose Ends.
Whilst directing and producing her own projects she has worked for various high-profile production companies in London and Austria in numerous different roles.
During May 2013 Kim was invited to participate and discuss her work as director at the IFFI Talent Campus in Innsbruck.
Her short film Dancing in Circles stars 3-time Bafta Cymru winning actress Sharon Morgan and was awarded a BAFTA in September 2015.
Bolt was created as a prequel to the feature Replay that Kim has been developing with writer Kerry McIntosh.
Kim is currently working on the children's feature film Madison, which was initially longlisted for iFeatures2 but has now been re-written to be shot in Germany and Austria. Madison has undergone development at the Drehbuchklausur Kitzbühel and the Academy for Children's Media (Germany), where it was awarded the Baumhaus/Boje Media award. It is being produced for the cinema with production company Dor Film West. Kim is also writing the children's book version of Madison, for which she is represented by the literary agent Paula Peretti.
